Having a perfectly clear or 20/20 vision is a gift one can boast of. Especially in today’s lifestyle when it is so easy for one to abuse one’s eyesight. An article in the book, Coconut Water for Health and Healing by Bruce Fife said that coconut water is a perfect eye drop solution or eye wash. Putting coconut water in the eyes can cure existing eye problems such as cataracts and prevent eye problems from developing.

In the book, Fife shared the story of a woman on a cruise ship that is scheduled to have a cataract surgery. She accidentally got splashed with coconut water on the face and eyes. To wipe it off, the woman used a warm facecloth on the face and eye area. Then like a miracle, when the woman went to the doctor for the surgery they discovered that the cataract was gone.

Taking this story into consideration, coconut water because it contains antimicrobial properties and natural electrolytes can help promote good vision. Just wash eyes with coconut water or use a dropper to put it in the eyes. Then apply a warm washcloth. It will make eyes clear, cure existing eye problems and prevent eye diseases.

Eat nutritious foods. Make it a point that your daily diet is filled with foods that are rich in Vitamin A such as squash and carrots.

Avoid eye injuries. We can protect our eyes from accidents and injuries as we go about our daily activities by wearing safety glasses when we are in front of a computer or wearing shades when we go out as a shield from the sun’s rays. You should also be careful when doing activities that may damage eyes such as extreme sports.

Do Not Abuse Your Eyes. Your eyes needs to rest too so be conscious on the amount of time you spent in front of the computer or TV monitor. Let your eyes rest by sleeping for six to eight hours a day. Make sure that you are not too close on the PC or TV monitor for too long. A good exercise is to close you eye for a few minutes to rest and relax by thinking of the color green or better yet look at anything that is  color green
