VCO: One Natural Cure for Shingles

People who are infected or have caught the shingles virus know how painful and irritating this disease can be. It is caused by the herpes zoster virus which is quite similar to the virus which causes another dreaded disease, the chicken pox. The herpes zoster virus may be acquired in childhood and then stays inactive in the nerve endings for years. Many reasons can activate this virus and will lead to the shingles disease.

The first symptoms of shingles are manifested with fever, flu, dizziness and itchiness. Rashes and redness usually occur after several days of fever. The rashes in shingles only appear in specific areas but never affect the body’s midline.

Shingles patients are usually given antiviral and pain relief medications. There are also several natural remedies for shingles that can easily be done at home. Shingles can be cured using natural ingredients such as honey, apple cider vinegar and virgin coconut oil (VCO).

One can cure shingles with honey because it contains antibacterial properties. Just apply honey in affected areas and cover it up with sterile gauze. Do this regularly until the shingles is cured.

The same procedure can also be applied but this time using virgin coconut oil. Its anti-inflammatory properties can greatly reduce the redness and soreness of the rashes.

Another natural remedy to lessen the rash is by using apple cider vinegar. You will need to soak a small face cloth or towel in apple cider vinegar. Wring out the extra fluid then apply the towel soaked in apple cider vinegar in affected areas.
